The Rio Grande River – South Fork, Colorado
The Hidden Gem
The Hidden Gem
Premier fly fishing just 10 minutes from South Fork
Tall cottonwoods shade the property and block the view of the highway, leaving you feeling isolated but close to modern conveniences. The water is quite diverse with several different holes and side channels with nice riffles in between. Browns and rainbows are common in the river, and the dry fly fishing here is second to none.

The Hidden Gem
DETAILS
Catch massive hatches of Pteronarcys Californica (Salmonfly) in the early summer then chase trout with caddis, mayfiles and spinners the remainder of the year.
Convieneintly located between South Fork and Del Norte, you’re close to lodging, restaurants and fly shops. This makes it easy to be there early or stay late…or both! With the fishing season starting as early as March, you can easily ski Wolf Creek in the morning then fish the Hidden Gem in the afternoon. What a difference 2500′ can make!
While you’re there, you’ll likely see the neighbor cruising through on his ATV. He’ll have some great recommendations for fly selection and advice on the productive holes. On site camping may be available on request.
